From Truck Driver to Marathon Runner:

A Journey of Transformation

Meet Adam, a dedicated team member at Jordan Foster Construction, who has transformed his health and life through running.

Adam’s journey began with a New Year’s resolution in 2022 when he realized that his lifestyle as a sedentary truck driver was taking a toll on his health. Determined to make a change, he set out on a mission to prioritize his well-being, and he set ambitious fitness goals. “I didn’t have any major health problems other than high blood pressure, but I knew I had to make a change as it was only a matter of time before I’d be on medication,” Adam recalls, reflecting on his decision to embark on a fitness journey.

Because of his career as a truck driver, Adam struggled with poor eating habits, “My life was simple: work, eat, come home to my family, and do it all over again.” Adam said, “My struggle was always my diet. I was worried I had a food addiction.”

Fueled by a desire to set a positive example for his daughter and improve his quality of life, Adam embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Starting with achievable goals, Adam began walking and gradually incorporated running into his routine. “I began walking and running on the treadmill—it was so hard for me to run at first because my legs and calves cramped up often,” he shares. Despite initial challenges and setbacks, including leg cramps and physical fatigue, he remained committed to his goals, pushing himself to new limits with each passing day.

Through sheer determination and perseverance, Adam achieved remarkable milestones. He lost 50 pounds in just three months and completed his first marathon within a year of starting his fitness journey. “After April, I ran about two miles a day on the treadmill after lifting weights; I met my goal of losing 50 pounds in three months,” he proudly recalls.

Despite juggling a demanding job and busy schedule, Adam remains dedicated to his fitness routine, prioritizing healthy eating, regular exercise, and maintaining a positive mindset. “My life is totally different today because I have a purpose,” he reflects. “I also feel 100 times better health-wise.”
