Senior Estimator - Dallas, TX | Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The senior estimator is responsible for calculating major construction cost estimates and be involved in the general coordination, planning, and negotiation of a project. Will work with Director of Pre-Construction and other team members to do pre-construction, coordinate proposals, alternative pricing, and other documentation to prepare the estimates and proposals for hard bid and negotiated projects. As well as help develop the overall estimating program and staff.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all design stages: Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
  • Supervises/trains estimators and other personnel assigned to assist them in the preparation of estimates and bids.
  • Consults with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effective cost reductions, and resolve issues.
  • Studies specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction.
  • Research and analyze construction documents & specifications to determine estimated costs and understand overall scope of projects.
  • Works with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project.
  • Familiarity with all construction trades.
  • Assists with maintaining the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up to date.
  • Creates, maintains, and manages the preconstruction / design schedule for projects.
  • Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and supplier, generates acceptable value engineering ideas.
  • Manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at once.
  • Prepares quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
  • Understands how to create proper bid packages and works with the design team on the information required in each package to assure complete bids and providing the field team timely & accurate information to start construction and/or maintain the project schedule.
  • Participates and leads Hand Off meeting to project team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of multifamily estimating experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with the following software or internet-based program(s): BlueBeam, MS Excel, MS Word, Sage Timberline, Smart Bid, OST Takeoff, Adobe
  • Effective problem-solving skills to be able to multi-task and respond to internal/external demands.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Project Manager - Infrastructure - Austin, TX | Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide overall management direction for infrastructure construction projects. Responsible for all phases of the construction project including: managing employees, subcontractors, owner relations, quality control, safety, schedule and executing to the project budget.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Plan, organize and oversee staff positions.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the project team to ensure project is built on schedule, within budget and acceptable quality; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings; assist in negotiations and strategy meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to include cost forecasting.
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and company policies.
  • Prepare Owner Billings, change orders and purchase orders and review subcontractor draw requests.
  • Advise senior level management of potential problems, interferences, and schedule difficulties. Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
  • Perform additional assignments at the Senior Management direction.
  • Manages and directs the following: Assistant Project Manager, Project Assistants, Superintendents and construction labor assigned to project.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with Owners, Engineer and Subcontractors.
  • Review contract conditions; ensure compliance with all contract terms.
  • Manage, train, and supervise project team according to Company policy.
  • Keep project on a timely schedule.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Construction Science, Architectural) or equivalent experience.
  • Construction Management experience (5-8 years including supervisory experience in construction).
  • Effective problem-solving skills to be able to multi task and respond to internal/external demands.
  • Through understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, negotiate, cost control procurement and estimating).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite applications to produce reports and presentations.
  • Ability to present information in forms, tables, and spreadsheets and conduct training meetings.
  • CPM Scheduling Software proficient – Primavera P6.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
