Job Summary:

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, directing, and coordinating all activities for the projects assigned to ensure objectives are accomplished safely within prescribed funding and scheduling parameters.
  • Handle contract administration relating to coordination of issues with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and owners.
  • Assist in the preparation of the construction schedule.
  • Coordinate questions regarding plans and specifications (Request for Information).
  • Maintain specifications and plans current with changes, RFI’s, etc.
  • Attend and contribute to all Owner, Architect, Contractor, and any other meetings as needed.
  • Assist in the pricing and preparation of plan changes and change orders.
  • Ensure that plans and specifications are properly distributed.
  • Work with Superintendent in field to ensure proper construction and coordination of activities.
  • Maintain budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
  • Prepare and report project(s) costs, progress, forecasts, “as built” drawings and “close out” files.
  • Check drawings and coordinate with contract documents.
  • Maintain submittal log and expediting systems for all materials and submittals.
  • Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients.
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Ensure all on-site compliance with project procedures, quality control inspections, safety program requirements, work rules and company policies & procedures.
  • Regular attendance required according to company policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Fundamental understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control procurement and estimating).
  • Proficient computer skills and software/internet-based programs: MS Office, Bluebeam, CMiC

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent combination of technical training and/or extensive experience in construction, design, and project management required.
  • Two (2)+ years of related commercial construction experience.
  • Exposure to Construction, Engineering or Design is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a clear MVR may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on frequent basis.
  • Occasionally climb stairs or ladders, etc.
  • Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Able to safely operate a personal and/or company motor vehicle.

This position may require use of personal and/or company vehicles on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
