Description:
This project provides inspection of all international truck freight into the United States at the “Bridge of Americas.” CF Jordan (now Jordan Foster) was required to install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) without any disruption to existing DPS facility. Extensive coordination with all entities was required to include traffic control, sequence of construction and pedestrian access.
The Border Safety Inspection Facility consisted of asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete pavement, rigid steel frame inspection building rigid steel frame canopy, portable modular buildings, portable observation pulpit, building foundations depressed pit inspection bays, covered walkways, traffic management system conduit and boxes storm sewer, retention pond, sanitary sewer, water line, electrical and telecomm connections, sidewalks and ramps, signing, striping and delineation, landscaping, and security fences and gates.
The value of this project was increased by the Department of Public Safety to install Weigh-In-Motion (WIN) scales and all related equipment.
