Located in Central El Paso on the Medical Center of the Americas campus, the three-story, 57,761-square-foot MCA Cardwell Collaborative project includes common areas, business incubator space, and a high-performance computing center on the first floor; and tissue culture facilities, wet and dry laboratories, radio isotope rooms, and other support spaces for biomedical start-up companies on the third floor.

Building features include a structural concrete frame and drilled concrete piers, horizontal and vertical aluminum-finned shading devices on the exterior, and a rain-screen system of aluminum composite metal panels over a fluid-applied moisture barrier.
