San Antonio, TX – November 22, 2024  – Jordan Foster Construction is proud to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Eagle Award at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) South Texas Excellence in Construction Awards. The award, presented at a ceremony in San Antonio, TX, recognizes Jordan Foster Construction’s outstanding work on the La Nube project, a cutting-edge STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) discovery center in the heart of El Paso, TX.

The Eagle Award is ABC’s highest recognition for construction excellence and celebrates innovative, high-quality construction projects that set new industry standards. Jordan Foster’s work on La Nube, a visionary hybrid space merging the interactive elements of a children’s museum and a science center, exemplifies the company’s dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and safety.

Located in downtown El Paso, La Nube is a unique and ambitious facility featuring a stunning, cloud-like architectural design developed by the internationally renowned firm Snøhetta, a Norwegian architectural firm headquartered in Oslo, Norway. The building’s innovative structure includes complex, curved steel elements, a standing seam metal roof with 60-foot curved panels, and an expansive atrium with a sophisticated smoke exhaust system—the first of its kind in the region. Despite significant challenges, including supply chain disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and labor shortages, Jordan Foster’s team demonstrated resilience and adaptability, ensuring the successful completion of this groundbreaking project.

La Nube, which means “the cloud” in Spanish, was conceived as a space where imagination takes shape, providing a bilingual and inclusive environment where families and people of all ages can engage with STEAM learning. The project was made possible through a unique public-private partnership between the City of El Paso, the El Paso Community Foundation, and community stakeholders.
