The Women’s Leadership Council is a dynamic committee dedicated to empowering, supporting, and fostering leadership among women in the construction industry.

At Jordan Foster Construction, opportunity is at the heart of the company’s values. Leading this initiative is the Women’s Leadership Council, a committee consisting of women from across Jordan Foster, all deeply committed to creating an environment where women thrive, not just during Women in Construction (WIC) Week, but all year long.

 

Building a Community of Empowered Women

The WLC was created with a simple yet impactful mission: to provide a year-round platform where women at Jordan Foster Construction can connect, grow, and lead. It goes far beyond just celebrating WIC Week – the WLC continuously organizes events, programs, and initiatives that focus on professional development, mentorship, and fostering an equitable culture. This helps women feel empowered to succeed in an industry where they are often underrepresented.

One of the WLC’s founding members, Taylor Mathews, emphasized “We are dedicated to creating a space where women can connect, grow, and thrive—both personally and professionally.” She explains, “We aim to create a culture that supports women at every stage of their career journey, offering opportunities that foster personal and career growth.”

 

A Commitment to Ongoing Growth

What distinguishes Jordan Foster’s Women’s Leadership Council is its dedication to continuous, year-round support for women in construction. While many companies focus on celebrating women only during WIC Week, the WLC at Jordan Foster ensures that women are recognized, supported, and provided with opportunities for growth throughout the year.

Amanda Munoz, a member of the 2025 WIC Week Planning Committee, commented: “It’s essential to celebrate women in construction every day, not just during one week. This has to be an ongoing, impactful initiative.”

The WLC achieves this by offering programs focused on leadership development, mentorship, and skill-building. Estela Perez, a member of the 2025 WIC Week planning committee, reflected: “Opening myself up to the committee and connecting with other amazing women has helped me grow both personally and professionally. The opportunities for connection and growth within the WLC are truly invaluable.”

 

The Sky is the Limit: A Special Event at La Nube

One of the standout events organized by the WLC was “The Sky is the Limit: WLC La Nube Event”, held at the newly completed La Nube Discovery Center, a landmark project for Jordan Foster. The event allowed the women of Jordan Foster to tour this state-of-the-art facility and learn about the incredible women who played pivotal roles in bringing the project to life. It also served as a moment to recognize the Jordan Foster women who contributed to the success of La Nube, celebrating their hard work and dedication.

“The La Nube event is a prime example of what we’re striving to achieve with the WLC,” said Tricia Kagerer, EVP of Risk Management at Jordan Foster. “We recognize that women are integral to the success of our projects and our company. Events like these help us do just that.”

The event was not only an opportunity to spotlight women’s contributions to the industry but also to foster stronger relationships among the team, highlighting the power of collaboration. The day was filled with moments of inspiration, pride, and celebration, as women of Jordan Foster shared their experiences and stories.

The Women’s Leadership Council continues to expand its reach, offering more opportunities for women within the company. As Asma Bayunus, a key leader in the council, said: “While we have always fostered a culture of support and created a platform for our team members to invest in themselves, there is still more work to be done.
